Description:

You’re invited to learn how to organize an event that provides an opportunity for young bicyclists to practice and develop skills that will help them to become better bicyclists and avoid typical crashes. The “Bicycle Skills Rodeo Train the Trainer Workshop” is intended to give you the tools you need to run a successful event that provides a strong educational component for the participants. Simply stated, it is bicycle safety education by practice! The training will take place on Saturday, March 10, 9:00 am – noon at the NC Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center, across from the ball fields in Jackson Park. The address is 100 Jackson Park Rd.

Please attend this 3-hour workshop, learn more and see if this is an activity that you can offer in your community, club, program or organization. Help spread the BIKE LOVE in Henderson County! The program is free to participants and no prior training is necessary.

Sponsors of this training are NC Cooperative Extension/ 4-H, Henderson County Parks and Recreation, Blue Ridge Bicycle Club and Region 2 Active Routes to School.

To register for this training, email Mary Smith, Active Routes to School Coordinator at activekidswnc@gmail.com or call 828-460-7328.

There will be a bicycle safety rodeo event at Patton Park during Healthy Kids Day on April 21, 10 AM – 1 PM. Be sure to bring kids and their bikes to enjoy this fun educational event.
