Is it too early to say Happy New Year? Of course not! At the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center, we are already looking forward to some wonderful classes in a happy new year!

We will offer several fun cooking and nutrition classes for students in grades K-12 completely FREE of charge! Each lesson is provided through the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and will include a healthy recipe, nutrition lesson, and physical activity. Each student will also get some fun new items to use for food preparation at home!

All classes will be held at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center at 100 Jackson Park Rd Hendersonville, NC 28792.

**Please note that there is also a minimum number of participants required for each class, so please encourage your friends to join in on the FREE fun!

  • Camp, Cook, Play Afternoons (Grades K-3)
    • Dates and Times: Wednesdays, 4-5 p.m.: 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8
    • Registration Deadline: Friday, 12/30: 5 p.m.
  • Camp, Cook, Play Afternoons (Grades 4-7)
    • Dates and Times: Tuesdays, 4-5 p.m.: 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7
    • Registration: Friday, 12/23: 5 p.m.
  • Teen Cuisine Afternoons 2023 (Grades 8-12)
    • Dates and Times: Thursdays, 6-7 p.m.: 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/23 *Please note: no class on 3/14, due to spring break holidays
    • Registration Deadline: Friday, 2/3: 5 p.m.
