Radon is a naturally occurring odorless gas that is the second leading cause of lung cancer. High levels of radon can be found in homes across all North Carolina counties.
The NC Radon Program has created new resources to help educate all residents about radon. Follow the link below to the Healthy Homes portal for tons of information.
Additionally, we partnered with the Radon Program to conduct a series of radon webinars. All of these recordings can be accessed here:
NC State Extension will not be able to distribute free radon test kits this year, however, there will be 3,000 radon test kits available for North Carolina residents. Each homeowner can go to NC Radon in January and order one short-term test kit.
