The West District 4-H Horsemanship Clinic Returns to WNC Ag Center!

Horse Saddle Up for some Fun! The West District 4-H Horsemanship Clinic, proudly sponsored by The Dale Earnhardt Foundation, is trotting into Fletcher, North Carolina from Monday, June 16 to Wednesday, June 18 at the WNC Agricultural Center. This three-day, hands-on event is designed for youth with a passion for horses—and it’s packed with opportunities to “learn by doing!” (4-H Motto)

Mounted – 4-H Horsemanship Track

You will need to bring your own horse for the mounted Horsemanship Clinic.
Over the course of three days, participants—each bringing their own horse—will receive instruction in riding classes tailored to selected disciplines. No matter your experience level, whether you’re a beginner or a more advanced rider, there’s something for everyone to learn and enjoy.

NC 4-H enrolled members are eligible for the Dale Earnhardt Foundation Scholarship!

The Dale Earnhardt Foundation 4-H Scholarship and participant registration includes:

  • Clinic registration ($100 / participant, Free / DEF 4-H Member)
  • Three bags of shavings ($24 / participant, Free / DEF 4-H Member
  • A clinic t-shirt (Included with clinic registration)
  • Ride in the cattle team penning ($25/ participant, Free / DEF 4-H Member)
  • Free stall

To take advantage of the DEF scholarship opportunity, an updated 4-H Online enrollment and $50 deposit is required and will be returned when you attend the clinic. (This is non-refundable if you do not attend).

Un-Mounted – 4-H Horsemanship Track

No horse needed for the two-day un-mounted Horsemanship Clinic! Horse Picture
If you love horses and want to learn all about what it is like to care for them, this two-day experience is for you! You will be hands-on with horses in the very first hour! Come learn about how to care for horses, what they eat, the different horse breeds, and get hands-on! Practice on how to work with them. This year, participants will also get to lead line rides!

NC 4-H enrolled members are eligible for the Dale Earnhardt Foundation Scholarship!

The Dale Earnhardt Foundation 4-H Scholarship and participant registration includes:

  • Clinic registration ($50 / participant, Free / DEF 4-H Member)
  • Horses for hands on learning experience
  • A clinic t-shirt (Included with clinic registration)
  • Picnic night ticket!

To take advantage of the DEF scholarship opportunity, an updated 4-H Online enrollment and $20 deposit is required and will be returned when you attend the clinic. (This is non-refundable if you do not attend).

How to Register Mounted OR Un-Mounted

Henderson County NC 4-H members:

  1. If you have not already, enroll or re-enroll in 4-H Online (If you are not affiliated with a 4-H Club in Henderson County select “Member at Large” for Club).
    1. Registration for the Horsemanship Clinic will NOT be completed until your youth has submitted their completed enrollment in 4-H Online.
  2. Complete the WD Horse Clinic Registration Form: Click here to complete the WD registration google form
  3. Complete the WD Horse Clinic 2025 Registration Packet: Click here for the 2025 registration Horse Clinic Packet
  4. Connect with your 4-H Agent, Hannah Peeler, to receive printed documents from 4-H Online Enrollment. (See page 3 of WD Horse Clinic Packet)

Non Henderson County NC 4-H Members
