Henderson County 4-H is going to camp!

Henderson County 4-H has selected July 2-7 (Sunday-Friday) to attend Betsy Jeff Penn as a camping group. What does that mean?

Q: What does it mean to camp with Henderson County 4-H?
A. Camping with Henderson County means you will be with a group of local youth, will get to meet the 4-H chaperone, and will have access to lower camping rate!

Q: Must a youth be a member of 4-H in order to attend?
A. No! You do not have to have been a current member of 4-H in order to attend camp during the summer. :) However, you will need to create a profile in 4-H Online.

Q: My Child is interested in Camp, how do I find more information?
A. You can find more information about camp through the NC Camp article, contacting your local 4-H Agent Hannah Worrell, or checking out the camp websites above.

Q. How early can a youth be signed up for camp?
A. Camping spots fill up quickly! It is best to get your youth on the list by the end of March, 2023 for summer camping week, 2023. However, registration will continue into the spring. Contact your 4-H Agent for more information.

Q. How much is the cost of camp?
A. Camp prices may vary. State and local scholarships may be available! Reach out to 4-H Agent Hannah Peeler to learn more about scholarship applications!

Testimonials

“First I was afraid to talk to people and I was shy.
Now I can talk and be myself.
I have changed the way I make friends.
I would let them come to me.
But now I go to them…”

“I am not as shy, I’m making more friends, and I’m learning new things. I have made changes because this is not like anything I’ve ever done before and it makes me want to try new things.”

“Millstone is like my own corner of the world. It is the only place I’ve ever felt 100% comfortable and 100% myself.”

“I did stuff I never would have done by myself otherwise! I really liked my cabin friends. I learned how to ride a horse and climb a wall. We went on a hike and I found a really cool lizard. The water activities were one of my favorite things about camp though because it is always fun to swim!”
