Compost, Agriculture and Environment Fair

— Written By

Come celebrate compost, agriculture, and a vibrant community at the first Compost, Agriculture and Environmental Fair on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Henderson County Environmental Programs and the N.C. Cooperative Extension in Henderson County are partnering to educate the community about the importance of healthy soils and environment, according to a news release from the county.

The event is the first pick-up location for the county’s sold-out compost bin pre-sale.

While residents pickup their bin, they can connect with several environmental community partners including Soil and Water, N.C. Cooperative Extension, N.C. State Parks, Mountain True, Hendersonville Bee City USA, Mills River Partnership, Bullington Gardens, city of Hendersonville, and GreenWorks.

This free event will be held outside at Jackson Park under Shelters No. 1, 2, and 3. All participants will be required to wear a mask.

For more information, contact Environmental Programs Coordinator Christine Wittmeier at or call 828-694-6524.
