Super Bowl - Super Dips

Wow, my favorite time of the year! People gathered together around a table full of dips, spreads and finger foods. Some people think of football when they think of the Super Bowl. Me? I think of these dips. Try some of the delicious dips this weekend to impress your guests with a tasty and nutritious spread!

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus


Ingredients


  • 1 can bean (garbanzo, white beans, etc.)
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoons of olive oil
  • ½ cup tahini
  • ½ - 1 cup roasted red peppers
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • optional: spices or olives for topping

Directions


  1. Combine all ingredients into a food processor or blender and blend until smooth, adding water to make smoother if needed.
  2. Garnish with spices and herbs and serve on a platter with veggies or crackers!

Yogurt Ranch Dip


Ingredients


  • 1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • optional: pinch of cayenne for spice, chives or dill for garnish

Directions: 


1. In a medium bowl, stir together all ingredients.

2. Garnish and serve with veggies, chips or as a dressing.

Avocado Salad 


Ingredients

  • 1 can corn, drained
  • 2 ripe avocados, peeled and chopped into small pieces
  • 1 large tomato, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 can od seasoned black beans
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Paprika

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a boll and mix well, season to taste.
  2. Chill in the refrigerator for 10-20 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle with paprika.
  4. Serve cold.
