What is an Administrative Professional? What do office support staff do?
In a nutshell, an administrative professional is a skilled and versatile individual who is essential to the success of any organization. They are the glue that holds things together, ensuring smooth operations and supporting the productivity of the entire team.
Throughout the North Carolina Cooperative Extension system, 131 administrative professionals contribute to the success of Extension services, with majority belonging to the Administrative Professionals Association.
The North Carolina Cooperative Extension Administrative Professionals Association (NCCEAPA), comprised of support staff from Cooperative Extension, including District Administrative Associates, and personnel from NC State and NC A&T, is dedicated to community service and supporting the North Carolina Cooperative Extension (NCCE).
Each year, we hold a State Conference for professional development, networking, and awards. To fund this conference, along with travel, awards & recognitions, and the Herter O’Neal Scholarship, we conduct various fundraising activities.
This year, we're holding a 50/50 raffle at our annual NCCEAPA State Meeting in Greensboro, NC, on September 19, 2025. Half of the proceeds will go to the winner, and the other half will support our association's expenses.
Raffle tickets are available for purchase at your local Henderson county extension office until September 15, 2025 (as staff will be traveling to the conference after that date). Tickets will also be sold at the State Meeting in Greensboro. Prices are $1 each, 7 for $5, or 15 for $10.
The winner will receive a check at the meeting. You do not need to be present to win; the winner will be notified by phone and the check will be mailed.
