Summer Career Program Visits Cooperative Extension

N.C. Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center hosted the Henderson County Public Schools Summer Career Program on Wednesday at the Extension Center. The youth learned about careers in agriculture and related fields and technology associated with these careers. Horticulture agent Steve Pettis led the event and was assisted by Vegetable/Small Fruit agent Karen Blaedow, 4-H agent Hannah Worrell, our summer NC State intern Brynna Laughter and Director Terry Kelley.

The youth are in grades 8-10 and are enrolled in the program to be exposed to as many career paths as possible. The students were particularly interested in the drone technology that Mr. Pettis was able to showcase to them.
