State 4-H Congress!

(Updated: July 28, 2026, 11:57 a.m.)

Henderson County traveled to NC State University with nine excited delegates and one future delegate for a week of State 4-H Congress!

4-Hers who attend 4-H Congress are not random; these youth "earn" their way by completing 4-H Presentations, AIRE (Application, Interview, Resume, Essay) competition, being a District Officer, being selected to be in 4-H Entertains, or being inducted into 4-H Honor Club!

4-H Congress begins with opening ceremonies and the presentation of newly inducted 4-H Honor Club Members! Becoming a 4-H Honor Club member in NC takes years of cumulative 4-H service, leadership, and civic engagement. We were proud of Henderson County 4-Her Elizabeth Lyda, inducted at 2026 Congress!

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Lyda began her 4-H journey in 2018. Lizzie joined 4-H as a Club member, where, through the help of Club Leadership, she excelled in 4-H Presentations and leadership, later even winning a trip to National 4-H Congress. Lizzie also dedicated countless hours to community service projects, citing that her favorite work was wrapping diapers for Baby's Need Bottoms. We are excited to see her journey continue in her community as she heads to college in the fall!
