Teachers and 4-H volunteers returned baby quail and incubating equipment on Friday, April 3. Because of the need for social distancing, all of the equipment was returned outside the building. We were grateful for a sunny day. One of the teachers said, "The embryology project made a difficult time more bearable for the students." Many teachers talked about how much their families enjoyed being part of the embryology project, and were having trouble parting with the babies. One 4-H Mom explained about the baby birds: "I can't guarantee that all of their little heads haven't been kissed!"
Our 4-H volunteer picked up the baby quail and took them to his woodworking shop. He plans to raise them and release them into the wild, when they are about 8 weeks old.
