The WNC 4-H Dairy Steer Program introduced young people to livestock showing, feeding, and care. Participants were provided a dairy calf that they fed and cared for all summer. They then showed their steers in the WNC Livestock Expo, which was a terminal show. The steers were sold after the show. Sixteen participants in the Dairy Steer Show created project records, recording their work, including expenses. Congratulations to Ivory Eatmon for winning Reserve Champion with her project record! She earns $200 with this award! For information about future Dairy Steer Programs, contact Holly Jordan, Noah Henson, or Ethan Henderson.
Congratulations Ivory Eatmon!
