Recycle Your Christmas Lights!

(Updated: Nov. 20, 2025, 6:48 a.m.)

The holidays are upon us! As the Christmas decorations come out you will inevitably come across a strand or two of dead lights. Now what to do, get a replacement bulb? Nah. Throw them out? No! Being the environmentally conscious person you are, you decide to recycle! But how are you going to do this?

By donating to them to Henderson County 4-H! Over the years we have collected thousands of pounds of lights, earning cash to support our 4-H clubs, and given hundreds of dollars to local charities.

We invite you to be a steward and drop your broken or unwanted lights off at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center, 100 Jackson Park Road Hendersonville, NC, during business hours, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. on most weekdays. This is a year-round program. We look forward to seeing you!
