(Updated: Nov. 25, 2025, 8:24 a.m.)

The Henderson County Beekeepers Association (HCBA) is pleased to announce the schedule for their 2026 Beekeeping School held in cooperation with Henderson County Cooperative Extension. This is one of this region’s most extensive beekeeping courses consisting of seven classroom sessions and three sessions at the Bee Club's local apiary.

The class features expert instruction from experienced local beekeepers. The course objective is to prepare attendees to successfully care for their own bees during the first year of beekeeping. The fee for the class is $100 ($90 before Dec. 7, 2025) and includes a textbook and all course materials plus registration for two adult family members or one adult and one child over 12 years old in the same family. Membership in HCBA is required and costs $20.

Those completing the class and planning to become spring 2026 beekeepers are encouraged to take advantage of HCBAs unique mentor program. Mentors make themselves available to provide ‘hands on’ support and coach those completing this course during the critical first year of beekeeping.

The class is held every Monday evening for seven weeks beginning January 26, 2026 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Classes are held at the Henderson County Cooperative Extension Center at 100 Jackson Park Road in Hendersonville. Whether you're a beginner or just curious about honeybees, this course will get you buzzing with excitement! For more information, click the link below or call 828-BEE-5623.
