Horseweed is prevalent this year. It is an annual that can germinate year-round from seed so it can be a weed any time of year. Each plant can produce from 50,000 to 250,000 seeds per plant! The weed can be an irritant to human skin and to livestock.

Horseweed is reported as being resistant to Round Up. I have gotten calls from local landscape professionals telling me that glyphosate has failed to control horseweed for them. I recommend that they use Crossbow or any other 2,4-D product. These 2,4-D products are selective so they kill broadleaf plants and do not kill grasses.Learn about Managing horseweed in lawns .
