West District 4-H Teen Retreat

March 25 – 26, YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly, Black Mountain – a weekend of workshops, a dance, friends, recreation, and fun! All of this is planned by your West District 4-H Officers.

Poultry Science Summer Institute at NC State

July 30- August 3, 2017

The summer institute is a five-day, four-night conference and workshop designed to broaden the high school student’s understanding of the educational disciplines, scholarship opportunities, careers and industries related to poultry science. Any high school student with an interest in a career in the poultry industry may apply to attend the conference. The cost for the conference is $50.00. 4-H Shooting Sports Training for Instructors

For approved Henderson County 4-H Volunteers who have been through volunteer training.
Volunteers will be trained in one discipline:  archery, shotgun, rifle, pistol, muzzle loading, or hunting. They will be asked to rank their preferences for the discipline.

$70 for overnight lodging, $50 for commuting, Friday and Saturday

What: Spring Fling Livestock Show
Livestock Judging Contest, Skillathon Contest, Swine Show, and Cattle Show
When: April 14-15
Who: Youth must be under the age of 21 as of January 1, 2017
Where: NC Mountain State Fairgrounds, Fletcher NC


4-H Project Record and Portfolio Judging

4-H Project Record Judging will take place in Raleigh on April 21-23, 2017 as well as Portfolio Judging April 24-26. RSVP to Denise if you’re interested in helping with this judging. It is a great way to learn how to do a project record and portfolio, and an honor to see work from 4-H members across the state!
