Pesticide applicators applying pesticides that require a respirator per the label need to undergo an annual medical clearance and fit test. To assist applicators in being in-compliance, a respirator fit test / medical clearance clinic is being hosted by the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center and the North Carolina Agromedicine Institute on January 20, 2023 from 9:00 am-3:40 pm at 100 Jackson Park Rd. Hendersonville, NC 28792.
RESERVE YOUR SPOT TODAY: Please call the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center at 828-697-4891 to schedule your fit test appointment. Time slots are every 20 minutes starting at 9:00 am with the last appointment at 3:40 pm.
Cost: $45 for Medical Clearance & Fit Test or $25 for Fit Test Only * or Medical Clearance Only. Cash or Check Only (Payable to ECU)* For Fit Test Only you must bring a copy of your completed medical clearance. If you have a chronic condition that affects cardiac and/or respiratory function, please bring a clearance. It may be done by paper prescription or on letterhead from doctor's office.
ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Bring a respirator if you have one. If you do not have one, we will have sizing kits available and some respirators/cartridges to purchase. Prior to fit testing, we will check your blood pressure, blood sugar, and pulse ox. Anyone with facial hair needs to be clean shaven anywhere that the respirator touches.
