From Orchard to Table: Creative Uses for an Abundance of Apples

(Updated: July 22, 2025, 6:29 a.m.)
Apples piled in a bowl.

Have you recently visited an apple orchard and brought home an abundance of apples?

Or maybe you attended the NC Apple Festival and purchased a bag of apples (and if you are like me, you also got a slushie, apple cider doughnuts, a fried pie....).

What can be done with all these apples besides eating them fresh?

Here are recipes that call for fresh apples:

bowl of apples, jar of apple butter on a red and white gingham tablecloth
Preserved food in jars.
Piles of apples in baskets.
