A familiar face is back in the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center beginning June 1. Isaac Wyatt will begin as our Agricultural Program Assistant. You may remember Isaac from his stint as our county-funded intern for a little over two years.

Isaac just graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in Natural Resource Management, after beginning his advanced education at Blue Ridge Community College. As our Ag Program Assistant, Isaac will be responsible for assisting our four agricultural agents in their programs. Isaac has a wealth of plant knowledge gained from his own personal experiences in growing ornamental and vegetable plants since he was a youth.

Through his formal and self-education, Isaac has developed great skills in plant identification, invasive species, pest identification, plant propagation, as well as GIS software. He will be able to hit the ground running in this new role as he has already trained to do many of the tasks he will perform.

Isaac grew up in Haywood County. While working in his internship, he often assisted our Vegetable & Small Fruit agent Karen Blaedow in her field research as well as helping with our 4-H mini gardening. Isaac developed his own collection of heirloom seeds for the 4-Hers to use.

Isaac will continue in his role of assisting agents with their projects and programs as well as assisting clients with various needs as they come to the office. Please stop by and welcome Isaac to Cooperative Extension. You will find him to be a very knowledgeable horticulturist and very helpful. We welcome Isaac toN.C. Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center.
