Are you interested in being a part of a teen cooking club? Starting in the Fall of 2021, we will be forming a club for youth in 7th – 11th grades to learn about ways to improve nutrition while preparing and tasting healthy recipes. As we start, we will follow the Teen Cuisine curriculum to ground us in food safety, preparation and nutrition techniques, and will then expand our meetings to learn and experience various other cooking adventures.

In addition to learning about nutrition, food safety and food preparation, we hope this club will inspire and prepare youth to compete in cooking challenges and presentations at the local, district and statewide level. More details about those opportunities will be provided as we go.

There will be no fees for participation in this club.

We currently plan to meet once per month at the Cooperative Extension office in Troy (203 West Main Street). We will continue to abide by all university requirements for meetings, which may mean the requiring of masks, social distancing, or reverting to online program delivery. We will always communicate those expectations and procedures clearly before club meetings are held.

The schedule for our meetings will be determined based on the availability of the interested participants. Please help us plan these meeting times by completing the Cooking Club Interest Form.

If you have any questions, please contact Rhonda Peters or Tracy Blake.
