  • Turf and Ornamental Test Prep Class

    • Do you have someone who needs to get a Category L Turf and Ornamentals pesticide license? If so, we will be teaching a Turf and
      Ornamentals Test Preparation Class on August 4, 2021, from 8 a.m.–noon. We will cover the material included in the Turf and Ornamental book. The cost is $10.00. Call our office at (828) 697-4891 to register. The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will provide testing opportunities at the Mountain State Fairgrounds on August 10 and November 9.
  • 2021 Henderson County Pesticide Recertification Classes

    Private Applicator “V” Training (In-Person Tentatively): This course will cover the two-hours of required pesticide safety information required to recertify a NC private applicator pesticide license.

Paraquat training is also currently available online at  Applicators will need to register on the site, watch a 45-minute video presentation, and complete a quiz (final assessment). A certification of completion is awarded with a 100% quiz score (unlimited re-attempts allowed).

Personal Protective Equipment Guidance for Pesticide Applicators during COVID-19

The NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services – Pesticide Section and NC Department of Labor – Agricultural Safety and Health Bureau have been working with the NC Agromedicine Institute to develop guidance for pesticide applicators & handlers regarding the use of PPE amidst COVID-19. The guidance is attached in English and Spanish.
