Extension Teaching Garden

— Written By

The Henderson County Extension Teaching Garden is a place for education and respite. Gardeners come to learn in the garden while park goers admire the quiet beauty of the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center landscape. Located in Jackson Park, the garden is used by agricultural agents with NC State University to teach proper gardening practices.

The Extension Teaching Garden is maintained by Master Gardener℠ volunteers. Expanded annually, the garden has grown in scope to include dozens of species of trees, shrubs, succulents, and flowers. Plantings focus on specialty conifers, pollinators, and gardening best practices.
