West District 4-H Volunteer Award Winner

— Written By

Marcia Torres, 4-H alumna from West Virginia, earned the West District 4-H Volunteer Award at the NC 4-H Volunteer Leaders Conference in Raleigh February 6. Marcia understands the value of 4-H in developing life skills in youth and wholeheartedly supports it as a volunteer at the county, district and state levels. Her calm manner and wide variety of skills have served her well as a 4-H leader and mentor in Henderson County for nine years. Her club members excel in public speaking, in large part due to her coaching. Her 4-H Club, Leaders in Training, is very serious about serving the community, and participate in many service projects. 4-H is the Youth Development Program of N.C. Cooperative Extension, which is a division of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at NCSU.
