Applications are being accepted for members of the Henderson County Youth Council

Do you know a teen who would be interested in serving on the Youth Council for Henderson County? The purposes of the Youth Council include learning about local government and providing a way for teens to have a voice in the community.  We are asking local citizens and leaders to work with us to recruit potential youth to serve on the Youth Council.  Candidates should be high school freshmen, sophomores, or juniors this year.  Applications are due by March 4.  Click here for a letter explaining more about the Youth Council, and here for an application form.

Applications are also being accepted for one Youth Council Leader and Advisory Committee members.  Leaders will meet with the Youth Council at least once a month, and help facilitate the workings of the Youth Council.  Advisory Committee members will meet at least four times a year, and help promote the Youth Council in the community.  Advisory members will also meet with the Youth Council at least once a year.  Advisory and Leader candidates should be interested in youth initiatives, willing to work with others objectively, have good communication skills, and be familiar with local youth needs and issues.  Click here for a job description of the Youth Council Leader and  here for a job description of Advisory Committee members.
